High Risk Weeds

High risk weeds are weeds that are present in small numbers or not present in our area, that pose a very high threat of establishing in our area.
It is imperative that these weeds are identified early and eradicated so as they don’t pose a threat to agriculture in the Hilltops and Yass Valley Councils’ areas.

HIGH RISK PATHWAYS
Hilltops Council carries out an annual Weeds Action Program involving the inspection of High Risk Pathways for high risk weeds or alert weeds.
These pathways include:

Highway truck stops
River & creek crossings
Nurseries
Quarries
Rail crossings
Parks and ovals
If high risk weeds are located they are recorded, mapped, and then eradicated.
